Hey Nora -

I used to tune my own skiis (back when I was ambitious). I haven't for a few years now, but I still have my ski vise if you want it. It's in really good shape and its just sitting around collecting dust.... Let me know!

As a newbie to water kiting, I just wanted to say thanks to David for giving advice and helping to launch/relaunch me and also definitely to Tighe for the advice and the jetski ride (sorry for not making better use of it). Also to Mark and a couple other people who gave some good info about gear, pl...

Beginner friendly water...

I have some time off this friday and would really like to get some kite time in. I live on the East side of the cities and am looking for some beginner friendly water. Has Ramsey gotten any friendlier now that the water's down? Does anyone know of other lakes that have gotten better for beginners? I...

Thanks again for all the advice. I decided to go with a bit bigger version - the Allround 145X41. It sounded like everybody thought the performance of the board was good, and that the extra size could only help. Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing everybody on the water soon.

Thanks guys - I really appreciate the advice. I'll probably grab it.

Kurt - the board's 40 wide, so its right on the border. I look forward to getting out and riding with you once my bar exam's over with.

Thanks again,

Board Question

Would a 138cm Crazyfly Allround be too short for me? I got offered a little bit of a deal on it and I just want to get a second opinion before making a decision. I'm about 170lbs and I'll just be getting started on the water, though I was snowkiting all winter. Right now my only water kite is a 15m ...

Hey Kurt, Those are great shots as usual. The lack of color is just because they're a bit under exposed. I'm betting that the bright snow and clouds tricked your light meter. To fix it, you can either overexpose them when you take 'em, or you can fix them with the "levels" function in Phot...

Lake Dillon

Hey Leah, I was out in Summit Co about three weeks ago. There's a great shop in the town of Frisco called Colorado Kite Force that can give you the beta on the area. They have a website that's just their name, plus the w's and the .com. As for Lake Dillon, I wasn't that impressed. The views are pret...

Ice

OK, so I figured that after so many days of below zero temps with little or no snow cover that we'd have good ice for a few weeks yet. Today I was desperate for study break so I went to Lake Como for a 1 hour session only to find that the entire middle of the lake is roped-off open water. :x I also ...

I was out today and found that the skiis (Rossi Bandit XX's) work pretty well. You'll need a bit more grunt from the kite than usual to keep you moving, but otherwise it's fine. Just watch out when you turn for a tack because they can get stuck in the heavy snow and not want to come around.

Funny thing, mine just snapped off yesterday. I went over to Scuba Center and got a really cool one that mounts to your spreader bar instead of the chicken loop. Ozone makes it and it's $12. If you don't want to try to extend yours, i'd highly recommend it.
