Hi all,
I'm just starting into kiting. My friend Bryan just gave me my first lesson last wed on WBL. I've been following the board posts to learn more. I live down by Lake Pepin and I was wondering if anyone kites on Pepin regularly? So far the biggest thing I've learned in kiting is that it's another addiction to love and I already want another kite and more gear.

Hey Nora, what size kite did you get? The snow cover on Pepin is looking really good and just about every wind direction will allow you to kite other than SW. Best to kite on the WI side on a west wind though, like Pepin, WI. I kited regularily last year but I've done myself in already this year and wont be playing with anyone or anything for 6 months after the 20th of Feb. Shoulder surgery. There are some other people that do come here to kite.
Thanks for getting back to me. Hey Chris, I see you ride for Midwest. I bought my kite from there...one of my favorite stores! I bought a Turbo Deisel 10 meter to start with.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder Pete. Did it happen kiting? I have an orange TD. If you see it come out and say hi! If I can make it out this week it'll be during the mornings. Where is a good launch for this NE wind? I used to live in Pepin Wi. I know the Lake pretty well.
Thanks again Bryan for the help getting started! I should have never watched that video "Dunes de Neige" you gave me. It definately hooked me!

I'd try the bay North of the marina in Lake City otherwise the public boat launch about 1/2 mile South of the marina. I believe another guy from Rochester might come up to kite tomorrow too depending on the wind. Feel free to give me a call, perhaps I can give you a hand or some poiniters. I am not working currently, so I'll be around.
