HaH!! I had my Windsurfer opener on Fri. March28, (a bit late this year...)

Well, Last Friday I had my opening day for Windsurfing 2025. Last year it was on March 1st. I sailed the bigger lake of the Waseca lakes, (know as "also Clear Lake"). There are about 20 Lakes in Minnesota and Iowa called "Clear Lake." Everybody wants to call their lake "the ...

Re: Who's gone windsurfing yet?....It's windy ths March...anybody sail yet?

OOPS!!!! I meant to say both East Okaboji and West Okaboji in NW Iowa are open (NOT Lake Okabena in Worthington)... I doubt Worthington area lakes are open. However, I sure would like to know the situation on Big Spirit Lake. I may call the Loon bait shop near Spirit Lake for an update on Lake condi...

Who's gone windsurfing yet?....It's windy ths March...anybody sail yet?

I'm wondering if anyone has sailed yet during this Windy March....A couple of bodies of water are open. Big Creek Lake, Ia, and Clear Lake looks all open on the live web cam. The Okabena Lakes (East and West) "look" open. Anyone know if Lake Pepin has opened up? Pete, Chris, or Tim S.? I t...

The Sea was angry that day my friends...... Well, it's late February and it's looking like the lakes aren't going to open up AS early as last year. WINTER WINDSURFING is a good thing.."just gotta know where to go..."

Winter Windsurfing is Possible in Minnesota. If air temp. goes up into the forties, (a 50 degree temp. is even nicer) then there's open water on wide rivers, like the Mississippi, St. Croix River,,,ah...maybe that's it. Sure, it's nice to Ice sail, if you have an ice surfer...but it's kinda scarry b...

Re: "WINDSURFING" WINDSURFING...WINDSURFING....WINDSUSRFING

Thanks Bill for your comments. YOU know how to really "Dial In" squeeze out every onze of Sail power with the smaller gear! I on the other hand tend to sort of "cheat" and down hall (over maxed)..thus the 7.5 sail is just so easy to control (or too easy) and it's basically planni...

Flipped sail around so fast...I grabbed the boom again with two hands is this called....

On Tuesday of Last week at Eagle Lake, Near Mankato, when jibing, I flipped the sail so fast that the boom (once coming around) came right back to my TWO hands, and I grabbed it! Is this what's called Gybing like a hero? Well, it felt good, maybe it's wrong but I liked it! Chime in if you have comme...

Quetzalcoatl caught some wind on Hall lake in Fairmont on Saturday...

I, Quetzalcoatl was considering a long road trip to catch some wind in Eastern SD on Sunday last. But, when I checked the Sunday morning forecast, it looked like some of the cold front was now extending (a little) out of the Dakotas and "incapsulating" a bit of SW Minnesota. So,,,,,instead...

Change name of Windsurf to Sailsurf.......,.

The term "Windsurfing" might excite more newcomers if the term were to be switched to "Sailsurfing." I say this for two reasons: 1) Sailsurfing visually places a sail to a surfboard. With Windsurfing, some people just can't figure out "how can you surf the wind on just a boa...

Greetings Hutch: Great to hear from you. I'm still enjoying your Ezzy 8.0 Freeride sail. But I don't think you are giving up windsurfing completely because you didn,t include your 8.5 Ezzy Cheetah on your for sale list. My current cell phone is 507-261-1901. Safe Journeys. Eric. AKA----Quetzacoatl.

March 1st, Windsurf opener (I did it!)....open water and wind.....

Yo, Quetzalcoatl, DID sail on Friday, March 1st, 2024. I launched from Roadside Park two miles upstream from Lake City. All open water and I never had a "lull" moment. Air was real warm, fingers never felt cold. I had my Dry-suit on, Hood and 6mm thick booties. Dakine Mitts with a big hole...

Pete, are you bringing your 85 liter board tomorrow, Thursday?

Pete, are you sailing tomorrow, Thursday? Where? Are you bringing your 85 liter Pocket Tabou?

I'm sailing tomorrow, either Waseca or Cannon. Waseca, a bit stronger and longer. Cannon probably more fun.

Eric out.
