looking for a used jib sail for 22 ft. sailboat.
I'm in need of a "used" jib for my Catalina 22 ft. sailboat. Mine got destroyed in a "Snow storm!" My first choice woud be a used jib from a Cat-22, but I'd be happy if it came from a Balboa 20 ft or McGregor/Ventura 22 ft. or from an O'day 22 or from a Chrysler 22 ft. Please call Eric at 507-261-19...

Quetzalcoatl has something to say.........
Wind people: As 2022 comes to a close, some final thoughts float through my cerebral hemispheres. (I have two of them and so do you). Well, basically I just want to say....if you sell (really cheap) or give away good windsport gear to friends or "newbies you ought to feel really good about it! The f...

I just need a minimum of 10mph of wind and I can plane..
If I have at least 10 mph I can plane while windsurfing. Oh.....to have a ten mile an hour wind would be nice! Some windsurfers won't go sailing unless the wind is blowing at least 20 mph. Well, that means you might be waiting a long time till we get a 20 mph wind. With my formula board and the 10.8...

Sunday sesh: Fin slipped of board and sank, scraped board on cement ramp. found a cut in neck gasket ......
Wonderful windy Sunday,,,but three unfortunate slight bumps in my day. One: as I picked up speed I struck a rock which knocked my fin out of the fin box. The Fin sank. But, I recovered the fin screw! So, I pocketed my fin screw and hurried out of the water (to get another fin) with rig and board, an...

Interesting Fact: There are approximately 800,000 winsurfers in the USA>::::
I (Quetzalcoatl) recently read that the interest in Windsurfing is actually going up, not down. I read that in 2016 there were approximately 600,000 windsurfers in the USA. Now, there's around 800,000 and growing. (I guess we're not so special after all). Just because windsurf shop after windsurf sh...

Lake Pepin was angry yesterday my friends......
On Sunday, Sept. 25th, Wind speed (W-NW) tops was gonna be 18 mph. So, from Wisconsin side on my 120 l. Tabou Rocket and 6.3 Ezzy sail I headed out into the middle of Lake Pepin. BAM! Wind was mucho mas stronger! This is around 4:30 PM (when forecast predicted wind to be at it's best) and there was ...

I nice little "quick" story...from Speed Quest in Worthington.....
I was just searching my memory banks of my mind, and I remembered that when I showed for the Worthington "Speed Quest" held by Craig Berg, in the Fall of 2006 that the older guys (60 years old to 78 years old) didn't use screw drivers to attach fin to their boards. They used their battery charged ha...

Gails of November.....(Best wind season in Minnesota)....
I can't wait for November when the winds "really" kick up! November seems lately to be our best "windy" month. Put on a good dry suit, wear mitts and boots (and Hood) and you're in for a nice Surprise! Wow, that's two months away yet. Well, guess I'll just have to put with with 70-80ish temps and mi...

Tabou tips....(about the board)...and other details......
First of all, I just want to reiterate that if someone tells you, "I'm selling a 2009 Tabou windsurf board",,,ask 'em to check the serial number. This is because it's NOT uncommon to get the year wrong. Most windsurfing boards do NOT label the "production year" on the board. Tabou DOES! In the seria...

Where do we go from here...now that several (Except Lakawa) Windsport "classified" sections have dried up
Attention: Windsporters: Iwindsurf no longer has a classified section for buying and selling gear. They only concentrate on weather reports. At Windance: Owner Dave Nunn has sold the business. It's still open, it now run by a young guy name Nick. So, I, Quetzalcoatl am forever grateful to Lakawa for...

I could'nt get work off on Weds...yesterday. So, when I finished work at 6:00 pm I went for it! I knew there'd be good quality wind until dark. So, I drove one hour to Waseca and there were whitecaps and good wind. I rigged my 6.3 Ezzy Tiger and used the 115 l. Tabou Rocket. Some German dude (says h...

windsurfing was "pretty good" on Lake Madison on Sun, June 26th....
Well, Windsurfing was "pretty good" on Madison Lake. Four sailors started out. Chad, Ryan , Oz and I (Eric). Winds blew in the 20's throughout the afternoon until 7:00 pm. Wind was NW wind. I stayed on my Tabou 115 liter Rocket. One sailor smashed his nose,,,("nose of the board" pretty bad). He plan...
