Re: Best Girl Calendar Model Search

Shoot, I had to hang out with my DAD and then get MARRIED to a kiter in order to get free lessons. If only I had known I just had to "win" a chance to pose nearly naked whilst holding up kiting equipment! A big thank you to my dad, my husband, my brothers, and all of the other fabul...

Re: Thanks Scott, Matt and John and nice fisherman.

Cory-you looked great on Saturday! I don't think you qualify as "new to the water" anymore! Eric has good advice (as always, my dear) but I would emphasize one point: Take a LONG tack out. If you think you've gone out far enough, keep going! I can't stand those "so close you can just ...

Re: ULW Noon Conference and Driving Options to Waconia

I'm glad you mentioned this option, Tighe. I work in Long Lake and we live in St. Boni now, so I drive this route to and from work every day. I've been especially struck this spring by the beauty of the drive. It's so close to the cities, but it feels really pastoral. I also want to mention that hun...

Ooooh, I'm so jealous of your cleaning efforts at Mille Lacs yesterday! Debbie, that run to Malmo sounds like a blast! How was the water temperature?

Thanks for the belly laugh, Nancy. It took me a minute to trace it back to the title...and then I had to explain it to my husband...

Re: Milly Friday?

It turned out to be a nice day at Malmo on Friday. It was dead when I showed up around 1, but quickly picked up. Stroh was teaching all day and some newbies had some good first rides. Good to see Jerry up at the big lake again! Todd Hanson was there for awhile, looking smooth as always. Debbie and f...

Re: today thurs Scott's (barts) Wind prediction

I think we're going to check out Reddy around noon. Of course, if the wind isn't there, I've only wasted 20 minutes of my life... :P (Subliminal message: Our house is still for sale!)

Re: Gathering on the 12 th of July.

Eric left a message for Ron at Carlsona, but we haven't heard back yet. We'll try him again tonight. Malmo FYI: As of yesterday, some large, sticky, bright green weeds are floating around in the launch area. They really like to gel together and tangle up your lines if someone is walking your kite ou...

Re: milly sunday

Thanks, Steve! Sunday was great--steady wind and perfect power on the 9. I was hoping for a few more ramps to pop (poop-haha Eric!) off, but the waves weren't really lining up for that. It was a great day to work on long tacks and powered transitions. A big thank you to Denis for capturing video (an...

Re: Millacs

Hi Scott-I drove around the north side of the lake last night on my way home. There's open water from the edge, out about 20 feet in most places, but then it's a solid sheet of ice out in the middle. It looks like it's getting rotten, but it will be awhile...

It sure was funny to watch the spray of water fly up behind Eric; kind of like a rooster tail when someone is waterskiing. Rocket (the puppy) was chasing him and he was soaked too.

I was really hoping to do the crossing this year, but I'm not sure I'll be back in shape in time because I'm having surgery next week. Eric and Anna Paulson...the disaster team! Hope to at least see everyone at the party.

Kiteboarding on TV

I just got an email from Real Kiteboarding about some TV coverage in the next few days. Thought others might be interested! Go to Real Kiteboarding for more info. Both seat and waist harnesses have pros and cons for a woman, but I would suggest starting with a seat harness. I have been using a seat harness (Dakine Tempest) for both water and snow for a year now. I like the lower hook level, because women tend to have more strength in their hips and upper legs...

I have to echo what my dad has already said; I have been on cloud nine ever since Eric proposed, but reading your great messages of congratulations makes that feeling even stronger. What a wonderful community. Thank you, everyone. I can't wait to see you out on the ice (or water) soon!
