Re: Buy a kitesurfing lifestyle here in New Zealand :)

Hey Mike, It is one of those once is a lifetime things, which is why I posted it on here, with the cable park and SUP options its not wind dependent and you get to build your own boards! Oh and Kiwi kids are the best, they get a whole life of being outdoors and in the ocean with no fear of crime. Ah...

Buy a kitesurfing lifestyle here in New Zealand :)

Hey guys, Hope you are all enjoying the MN heat, and I'm doing a wind dance for you. Two of my friends have just been given an offer they can't refuse, which means they are selling their amazing kite lifestyle here in New Zealand. They have their own board making factory, cable park, kite school and...

Re: traveling with equipment

Hey Jim, For the big move to NZ, I packed a board, 3 kites, and all my gear (harness, pump, bars, wetsuit etc) into a Dakine kicker bag. I liked it as it expands to take a bigger board if needed, but can be a compact bag too if you don't. NWA did not charge me extra for it, and it weighed in at 49lb...

Re: Spare Kite Bag?

Thanks for the suggestion Eu Han! Hmmm, Dora the explorer, that might clash with the pink of my kite :) Green Bay was fun - the guys put on a great day and the event was really well attended! I even had time to take some quick video just for fun while riding out there, trying to figure out if I can ...

Spare Kite Bag?

Hey guys, I managed to lose my kite bag in WI this weekend, apparently the gusty conditions took it for a ride somewhere out in Green Bay :( Does anybody have a spare kite bag that they would be willing to part with? Its for a 12m Manta II so it doesn't need to be a huge bag. I'm open to any other s...

Re: DAMN!!! We can break.

Yikes!
Get well soon Adam, and don't sneeze, those ribs will hurt for a while yet.
I am 17 weeks post leg break, and still having pain and stiffness from it, but it reminds me every time I kite how lucky I am not do have done anything worse.
Wishing you a fast and painless recovery.

Re: Calhoun sunday

There were a good group of people out yesterday, Leah got to play with her new T3 and John Z was rocking out! Denis made it all look to easy and Eu Han mastered his turns! This was my first time at Calhoun and I will admit I found it really frustrating. There were a lot of dead spots when it was obv...

Re: Snowboard for kiting question

Thanks guys,
I am planning on doing a Montana and Colorado roadtrip over the Christmas period, so I guess I will be looking more at powder than ice.
I'll take a look at those websites and see what is on there.

Snowboard for kiting question

Hi guys, Its that season again, and I am looking for a new board to snowkite in. I don't want to mess up my current snowboarding board, and I have heard people say to just pick up a cheap used snowboard to kite with. I just wanted to pick your brains about what to look for in a cheap board that woul...

Re: Jimmy Lewis Flight Deck

Seth has one and I find it difficult to ride as its slow and easy to catch the front edge. If you you ride it hard with a lot of weight on to your back leg, you will stay upwind and Seth proved that at SPI last week being the only one upwind in light conditions.

Re: SPI update?

Today was probably the best day of kiting we have had all week. The wind blew from 10am to 6pm and everybody was working on new stuff. I am sure pics will be posted soon and Alex caught some great video of Scott and Denis today. Debbie learned to jump, I went toeside, Denis mastered the back mobe, S...
