New Years Day

Post by Jeff G »

There must be some lakes just north of the cities that are in the path of the last snow. Anybody know how far we'd have to go to find some snow? It would be great to start the new year kiting with friends.

Be careful out there tonight!

Reports were that Forest Lake got 7" which is just 10 minutes North of White Bear....if it's true that would involve a lot less driving for decent snow.

Here's the storm report but it would be nice if someone could confirm it:

Local Storm Report

12/30/2008 0122 PM

Forest Lake, Washington County.

Snow m7.0 inch, reported by co-op observer.

12/30/2008 0600 PM

Woodbury, Washington County.

Snow e2.5 inch, reported by trained spotter.

I'M HOPING TO RIDE UP @ MALMO ON THU. IF THE FORECAST MERITS A DRIVE. I think some of the Milly regulars plan to show as well. I guess its deep enough for a snowboard lame-0 like me. Got a new foil to fly from Santa!!

RED, WHITE & BLUE ! Too big for todays winds, though. I'll have to rely on my newly stitiched & taped GREEN PETER
lynn, unless I have to break out the yellow one. Maybe we can fly it on Sunday. Wild Bill is now the somewhat proud owner of "Big Pink." Swapped it for a switchblade worthy snowboard, which I vainly attempt to ride at least once each season, but it looks great on my board rack!
