SPI update?

Post by MK »

Pics, vids? Wassup?

Michelle, how's your leg?

Anyone dial-in a new skill?

How's the surf side riding?

I could use a little eye candy and stories of grandeur, or at least of warmth. I recall how I could have taken first place as the poster boy for sunburn. Stop at the local Stripes sells something with ICE technology for the sunburn. Didn't really work, ended up peeling like a snake, but it helped the burn.

The ice here is sooooo tempting to go out on. I see ice houses out on Pomme De Terre (near Ashby) and others posted about skate kiting. Maybe Swede over the weekend.

Today was probably the best day of kiting we have had all week.
The wind blew from 10am to 6pm and everybody was working on new stuff.
I am sure pics will be posted soon and Alex caught some great video of Scott and Denis today.
Debbie learned to jump, I went toeside, Denis mastered the back mobe, Steve B caught some huge air, as did Scott.
Mike N got caught up in a tangle on the first day, but after that all I saw was him speeding around, Nancy showed some beautiful skills and perfect technique with heelside/toeside switches and huge jumps, all close to shore so we could all watch. Alex spent a ton of time in the air, I'm sure there are names for all the spins he was doing, but I don't know them. I'm not sure what John Z was doing, but everytime he passed me he was whooping and yelling :) Gary kited with a big smile on his face, and then made us all a thanksgiving bonfire, sacrificing his only grill. The rest of the crew arrived today, so there are probably a ton more stories to follow, but I am exhausted, so thats my 2 cents.
We wish you were here.

A huge thank you for your post Michelle!

My morning has been busy with family, chasing my twins and 16 month old around, buscuits and gravy, wife playing the piano, and over all grand family fun but reading your post added another element of joy.

I'm sure others up here will continue to appreciate further comments.

Not trying to steal Tighe's tag line but here it is: Ride on! Feel free to write on!

Did Peter Fonda coin that? Dennis Hopper maybe?

It's been great. Riding every day so far. Today looked like it might not happen but at the end of the day we had one of the best sessions yet. Incredible sunset session...packed up in the dark with the wind still howling.

More later...sleep now...

Too bad you could not make it Mike (I was the Mike that was in your winter lesson group a few years back and saw ya at the gathering again this year).

SPI was a blast! Good times were had by all. Whooo ha.

Happy B'day Michelle!! Sorry that Jodie and I did not make it out on Sat night as our rental car died on us. The good part was that it died at the hotel, but took until 2pm the next day to get a replacement. Oh well. Thanks to Martin for the dawn patrol ride on Sun to go ride. Whooo ha!

Yep, Sat during the day was amazing. Got to ride my 12M Cab Crossbow 3 and I love that kite when it is powered up! You could ride quite a way downwind screwing around, and then in one run blaze back upwind. Great times!

Awesome to see everyone again and Jodie and I can't wait to go back again.

Rock on

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE! Wish I could buy you a "B-day bump!" Remind me that I owe you one when you're back & before you're off to Southern Climes. Sounds like you are all having a blast. We're already on the "hard stuff" up here.
This week's sub-freezing temps should finally firm up the remaining soft spots & free us to go out & go crazy!
