Re: Be Aware
I was doing a downwinder on the Oregon coast and wind dropped off very quickly. My kite went down, large 8 ft wave hit me from behind and tumbled me all around. When I came up I pulled my quick release and grabbed my OS handle. While getting tossed around I had gotten all rolled up in my lines. The ...

Semnoz Winter Tour
Just came back from France with a bunch of the Semnoz Kitesurfing DVD's and will be bringing them to the Scuba Center tomorrow. It is an amazing video, over an hour of incredible footage. The competition in Col de Lauteret was a great experience. Alex Peterson, Aaron Sales, and I (Matt Zanetti) were...

Pelican?
Tighe, Eric, whomever...please do tell where Pelican is. Going out on the minimally snow covered lakes is not too much fun; it is worth the drive for me to get the snow covered lakes. And I got some fancy new Windwing kites to try. Matt Z

Hey ya'll -- My father has about 30-40 acres of rolling alfalfa fields in WI abouts an hour twenty from here and if the snow hits there too, I will be there. The place is super ideal, but I must say that 20 kiters would be too much (ten would be max). Will post more if the snow looks to hit in to WI...

I fully concur with senor joe. The snow kiting was out of this world; it really put winter kiting on a different level. After watching the crazy French guys jumping off the huge hills and getting 20-30 sec of hangtime and flying who knows how high and far (50 feet up and 100 yards long?..hard to jud...

AP -- day 2
So great to see all of the support for our homeboy...he called me again this afternoon and there was no wind to speak of so he and a bunch of the other kiter/paraglider pilots got their gliders out and hucked off the top of the hill. Alex has his tandem wing so he and our buddy Levi got to soar over...

Hey -- I just put a few kites for sale on the classifieds...all inflatables, which I prefer, but have flown the ozone frenzy's a bit and although they are not what I prefer, they do work great for snow, but not for jumping (that is what I think, the frenchies at the kitefreeze were jumping all over ...

AP the superchamp takes the Mammoth kite daze comp
Just a shout out to all the folks in MN -- AP took home the cake at the Mammoth kite daze. He and I and Ken(he was at the kitefreeze in his teli skis) were the only real skiers and AP beat ALL the snowboarders at the event sponsored by a snowboard shop. Super cool, super nice people, amazing scenery...

Howdy all who read this. I am actually really pleased that they rescheduled the event. There is no way it could be held here right now unless we got a big snow machine and manually dragged it out on the lake. I was thinking that it would be resheduled and relocated, so it is great to hear that they ...

Kite ski opener on Birch Lake!
Went up to my ma's for T-day and brought my kites along just in case and low and behold there was ice and snow on the lake she lives on. (Birch Lake in Hackensack, MN) I smashed about 10 holes all over the lake and never hit less than six inches, so I guess it was safe enough to kite on. I don't thi...
