Anyone know how to contact Don?

Looks like he found my missing mast base, but no idea how to get in touch with him. Thanks

Congrats on the new one. Being close to Minnewashta too, I use that lake if I only get an hour as well. People on shore are very curious of the windsurfers. I've only ever seen 1 other person on that lake, mostly becuase the winds change direction based on your location on the lake.

Hey Fred I, unlike most other wind junkies on here, only have 1 board and sail. I've been getting along fine with a 6.6 and a 160L board. (155lbs, 6'2"). I'm still using this and it is the stuff I learned on. The rig was pretty easy to learn and to keep learning in many wind conditions. Dan

Well, that explains it. I was at Waconia Friday late afternoon and have about 10 bites on both legs where my suit was. Wasn't sure if it was swimmer's itch or chiggers as i was also working in the yard and in some weeds that weekend too.

At least the itching is starting to get better today

Water Temp

I haven't been out yet this year. How's the water temp at Waconia? Wet suite needed? will a 2/3 work? thanks

Harness

My windsurfing skills are improving and now I need to invest in a harness and lines. Any recommendations/suggestions? Right now I only have 1 board (150 liter F2) and 1 sail (6.6 Loft).

Yeah, I'm a windsurfer with a floaty board, so I should be good to go. iWindSurf.com forecast is looking like SSE later today. Hopefully it pans out.

Mille Lacs wasn't open on Sunday. I was coming home from a trip and the plane flew over the lake. It was about 75% covered.

A few days to recover

Friday, Sunday and Monday on the lake. no wonder why my body is so tired and hurts. Sunday wasn't much wind but it was perfect for me to do my first jibe. I should also mention that it was at the point when I was furthest from my starting point and the rain started to fall. Kinda fun windsurfing in ...

From what I've seen on lakes in the sw suburbs, boat traffic really picks up around 2-5. Of course that is usually the best wind time too. As I'm still learning, I mostly stick to Lake Minnewashta. Not too many boats on the lake, but it is smaller than the other lakes people use. About the only thin...

Was in Fort Lauderdale this week. Decided to move my flight up and got out of there this afternoon. Didn't want to risk having airports shut down tomorrow with no place to go. Was starting to get a little windy this afternoon down there.

It was a total rush. I can see why people love this sport. Haven't gotten into the straps yet. Wanted to try on sunday but was too tired and having too much fun at the level I was at. I think the next thing is to get some thin gloves for while I am out there. My hands were killing me. I think I have...

Sunday Fun

Hope everyone made it out today and had fun. I spent 3 to 4 hours on Lake Minnewashta. And I finally hit my first, second, third, etc plane :D It was pretty wild, so much better to hit the speedboats wake on a plane instead of going slow. Although now my entire body hurts, I think I will go to sleep...
