A few days to recover

Post by danf »

Friday, Sunday and Monday on the lake. no wonder why my body is so tired and hurts. Sunday wasn't much wind but it was perfect for me to do my first jibe. I should also mention that it was at the point when I was furthest from my starting point and the rain started to fall. Kinda fun windsurfing in the rain, until I heard thunder  All of the boats stayed on the lake during the rain. At the first thunder, it was a mad dash to the boat launch.

Monday was definately the windiest conditions I have sailed in yet. 15-20 mph winds and the waves were unreal. I was skipping across them fast and hard.

I did learn a few things.
1. Learned how to jibe (i can make at least 10% of them now)
2. Learned I need a smaller sail. A 6.6 in 15-20 mph wind is WAY TOO MUCH. Takes awhile to swim back to your board when you get thrown and it keeps going.
3. Learned I need to buy a harness. My arms and hands hurt. 2 blisters opened.

But all in all, it was a blast. :D
