Should a newbie go to Lake Washington today?

I had the alarm set for 5am in order to catch up with Mike.
Finally when I got out of bed it was more like 10am.
Thanks to all the warnings. I'm thinking more of Lake Washington now.

Yes, I'm a newbie when it comes to kiting. Otherwise I have a kiting DVD, a training kite, kite, board. I have been windsurfing and snowboarding but never tried a real kite. I have to find out if I should continue with windsurfing harness and life jacket or get something new ... if they even make on...

Does anybody know if there is a kiteboarding impact vest-seat harness-life jacket all in one design?
And if there is something like that how is it and where could I get one from?

Yes, it was great day on White Bear too.
It was the best day since I moved here in 2000.
... I wasn't expecting such good wind ... so I had no small sails available, but I enjoined every minute ... thats how it should be every day!

Is there any free camping by lake Mille Lacs?
Once I stayed on the west side - it was nice (except the noise from the road and no windy days).
It looks like the wind forecast isn't faivoring this place in the next couple of days.

Here is another option - White Bear Lake ( ca 90 miles from Rochester).
Me and my sister have some windsurfing stuff (nothing fancy) and we will be out there latest 10 am.
Mistral Xantos 295, F2 around 85l, some sails ( don't know exactly what sizes).

I'm still waiting for a call from The-House. They are calling around and trying to find out what and from where they can order.
Currently I have a 38cm fin.
