Going to Medicine about noon if there is any wind. Doubt the snow has bonded much, but at least it is something to do. Parking at the boat access on the north side of Three Rivers Park. Way too much traffic near the Ice House display for me.

Checked Wayzata Bay at Wayzata Beach about noon today. Open water from the beach to the ice, about 10 to 15 yards. Just left Kite Island. Lots of bare ice, ruts in the ice from cars and trucks and very little snow cover. Turned around and came home. Maybe tomorrow.

Kite Island around 12:30 today.

There were about 4 or 5 kiters at the Island on Thursday. Wind was up and down, but I thought the snow conditions were good.

I was out this early afternoon and the surface seemed pretty good to me. Not enough wind but about 3" of snow that felt pretty good.

And I didn't think anyone would notice!

Yes you can drive out to the Island. Lots of traffic the past few days so it is a rough ride near the Island. Best snow is about 1/2 mile South and then good to Big Island. I went out yesterday from Wayzata beach and it was fine. Plan to head out there in the next hour or so.
