Sunday

Post by bscheig »

Anyone thinking about riding on Sunday? Where? Looks like it's going to both snow and blow on Sunday.

I drove by the field at 109th today. Still snow covered but with 2 large puddles in the low areas.

I am thinking about riding at the 109th fields on Sunday but I have never been there. I know I saw a post about getting there at some point but cannot find it now, can someone give me directions coming from the east on hwy 610.

Cheers

Hello,

I live off 65 and 99th. I'm too interested in the fields. Would love to ride tomorrow. Chad, if you stay on 610 go over the Mississippi, past East River Road, past Coon Rapids Blvd, Past University Ave... it turns into 10E, take the HWY 65 exit and take a left. The roads will start counting up to 109th.

I have no idea where to go when you get to 109th. I'm assuming you take a right and it's down there somewhere. If anyone is headed out, give me a shout... I might just go drive there right now and see what I can find. 763-670-2448

Hey kelcher,

The 109th fields I'm referring to are off of hwy 169.

The 109th fields are just west of 169 and south of 109. You'd mentioned 610. Take 610 until it dead ends into 169. Go north on 169 to 109th and turn left on 109th. Go west on 109th to a round-a-bout and take the road going south (3/4s way around). Go about 2 blocks to a left on to a short, half block long dead end street (?106th?). Park and start pumping.

I'm going to try Waconia some time tomorrow afternoon. Let the snow accumulate a bit before venturing out. Anyone else up for a little Waconia action tomorrow?

John Z is going out of Excelcior. I'm going to start heading that way. If the roads are jammed, I may do Calhoun. Reports from White Bear sound marginal.

Just left Kite Island. Lots of bare ice, ruts in the ice from cars and trucks and very little snow cover. Turned around and came home. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm sure Waconia is the same way. It is just blowing too hard. When have we ever said that? Tomorrow morning may be a better option, if you can actually get anywhere in the morning. I anticipate some serious shoveling just to get out of the driveway. Snowing and blowing very hard in St. Boni right now.

flew a 7 on Cottonwood bay in Mtka. At least I think that's where we were. Couldn't see anything except for the bare spots in in the snow (ice). Went out about 100 yards and Diego, Jim Patty would lose sight of my kite. (it is only a 7...maybe a 16 would have been more noticeable.) Well powered, but only stayed out about 15-20 minutes since it was so late, and I could definitely see "not seeing" enough to get back in.

Monday outta be swell.
