Re: Maui advice
I would say definitly get your smaller kite repaired. October is starting to get into winter and nonwindy season (but wavey). Summer is pretty full on windy. Check out windguru.com for Maui. If it says steady 12-14, it pretty much means a lot more then that. Windsurfers will be on 5.0s and less pret...

Deals, Deals, Deals
Just wanted to pass these two sites on. Its a bit addicting as the stuff changes all the time (check it often or you will miss something really good!). Some great deals if anyone wants to buy outerware, skis, boots ect.. Both are run by backcountry.com http://www.tramdock.com http://www.steepandchea...

Re: Millacs.
I think my wife and I are going to come to Mille Lacs for the first time this weekend. Should be showing up late in the evening on Sat. Will probably camp if there is a good spot. Any suggestions? I assume Reddy is the place where it will be best for the wind direction? Is it good for windsurfing to...

Re: Kite surf in Canada
Lake Ontario can be good. Frenchmans Bay in Pickering is good for SW-SE, nice big beach. Oshawa beach in Oshawa is where lots of kiters hang out. Beaverton (1 1/4 hours) on Lake Simcoe is good for NW-SW. Goderich is the same but farther. Kingston can rock on a SW, but mostly only in the fall, summer...

Re: Harness lines and foot straps - beginner's question
A couple of quick comments: John is right, as much weight as possible on the harness, but to clarify, he means down not outward. YOu could almost feel like you are sitting in your harness off of your lines. It could be good to use your hands and arms with pressure aswell until you get more comfortab...

Re: Gorge and WA OR and CA
Check out a place called Sherman Island, pretty near to a place called Rio Vista or Antioch CA. About 1 and a 1/4 hours inland from SF. It used to be free to camp/trailer in the "parking lot", if you want to call it that. Super cool community hanging out there. No power or water, so bring ...

I dont think bindings will make any real performance difference for you when kiting. I get a bit worried when using older bindings as you never know how they were treated and what condition they are in inside (which is what is important). For example being on a roof rack in the salt and dirt on the ...

Kite Flight Path When Jumping?
So I have been starting to jump and was hoping for some help. Especially in lighter wind, i travel downwind and the kite loses all its power and sinks to the ground. I have noticed I tend to move my forward hand farther forward therefore bringing the kite back to the power zone (and beyond sometimes...
