Re: Torn ACL...

Lee, imho she is the best! Look at her CV for details, but she is Doc for Team USA women's soccer, and has many pro athletes as clients. She is also the orthopedic Dr for many UofM athletes. Additionally, she is now familiar with kiting and it's demands as I brought in magazines showing her the spor...

Lee, Dr Arendt is my knee doctor & she is great! She recommended the allograft and I went with her recommendation.

Re: Torn ACL...

Hey Lee, sorry to hear of your injury. No easy way back, but you WILL come back. Hit PT hard, really painful & alot of work but you have to get your extension and flexion back in PT - this is critical! Plan on 7-9 months before any laterally taxing sports. I was kiting 7 months post surgery with...

Re: Need a recommendation on boots

John, sorry to hear about your ankle injury.
As for boots; watched two riders at the Triple S in Hatteras blow out their knees this year while riding in boots. I know many swear by them, but your knee is going to be the first thing to "release" in a twisting fall.

That was a nice looking kite John - it looked like you were having a fun session.
I'd love to try it out someday if you still have it..
Happy to give you a launch!

Re: kite island?

Minnetonka is way too busy for soft-water kiting, even from a car-boat. There is very little public access, and those spots tend to be crowded boat ramps and swim beaches with lots of kids. A 2008 LMCD study determined there were more than 10,000 boats stored on Lake Minnetonka in the summer, ...

Re: front entry drysuit?

Gill makes a three-layer, breathable, front-zip drysuit. Its not cheap, but is tough, dry, warm and easy to get in & out of.

Re: Kite Island Tuesday

Hey Scott,
Sure was nice out at the island Monday afternoon. How did the snow hold up yesterday?
4"-8" of new snow on top of this base could make for some great riding!

If the "base" holds up through today, and we do get 4"-8", riding could be quite nice!

Yes, I own a 145 & 138 JL model 3 and love them both.
I've rode them on flat and chop and find them to be a gas - I'm not sure what they meant by a "different" kind of ride
