For my hands one key thing is the hot water dunk times 2. I'm still trying to make it work with neoprene gloves, mitts would be better but I don't own a pair yet and like to wear gloves if I can. I find my hands get cold very quickly at first (especially my index fingers go numb), but if I go in and dunk them a second time this gets them over the hump.

My theory is once your heart rate is up a little and your circulation is increased due to physical exertion and adrenaline (the kind that comes from wondering if you will be able to hold on with freezing hands!) the hot water helps open the small circulatory systems in your fingers and the increased blood flow is more likely to be sustained. So after the second dunk they seem to do ok.

Well, gotta go see if Iceman is still hanging out at Fleet Farm!
