swap

Post by btomasek »

i just called the-house and they said the swap was may 5th weekend. the question i have is how many people go?? wondering if it is worth my uncle to come from greenbay to buy new equipment. I want to see if i can get him back into the sport of windsurfing. Is there a lot of newer equipment or old? When do most people get to the house so all the gear isnt picked over. It isnt on friday is it? Im pumped to buy some more gear so looking forward to it

The swap is on Saturday. I believe it officially starts at 9AM...BUT...many transactions happen before that hour, so your best bet is to get there earlier than that. Many people frequent the event and you will find both new and anchient equipment. You and your uncle will have a great opportunity to find decent equipment at reasonable prices. The House will be open too if you have a hard time finding odds and ends. Also, check the "classifieds" on this website for other deals.

I agree with Pete, get there early! Most of the best deals are done well before 9am, by the time 9 rolls around things seem to start slowing down.

I also agree the House itself is an awesome bargainfest on the day of the swap. Once you've dealt your hand outside head inside the store for more good stuff. The inside deals can be very competitive with the outside ones!

Last night I was at The Professor's Swap Meet (see Rob's post in the classifieds) and I got some great deals on gear that brought me into the 21st century. He still has some really nice gear for sale (minus the F2 Thommen 295II board, 6.7m, 9.0m and 550cm mast, carbon boom  ). No more schlogging for me! Thanks Professor!!!

Yep... finally had to shed the mock turtlenecks. It'll be nice to start watching the wind forecasts again. Hopefully this will give me more time on the water- the last few years I could count my yearly outtings on one hand. But I'll still be going retro when it's big. Anyone seen my Vuarnet's? 8)

Disco?

I think you left them in your "Members Only" jacket at the Disco. Now if we can pry that Bee Gees tape out of your 8-track... Jim N.

No more shlogging is right David! You are dialed in dude! Retro or not. It's always a pleasure to help someone who has lots of Stoke like you. One thing I forgot to give you is a mast protector, I have one for you. Do you have one use in the meantime?

Prof,

I have one but it's a faded baby blue- ahhh, those pastels are soooo soothing. Rats, I think it will clash with the new rig... so yeah, I'll take you up on your mast protector. I'll give you a call.
