Re: Recommendation for snowkiting gloves
Get some Leather Lined Kinco gloves like these: http://www.kinco.com/products.html?page ... egory_id=4. Coat them with some Snow Seal. Cheaper than spending $80 to $90 on some gore-tex gloves. You won't be dissapointed.

Re: Seeking Advice: kite for my 11 and 9 year old daughters
I work at a summer camp down in Iowa and we teach kids how to fly trainers. We have B2s and B3s. The 3rd line is nice for re-launching, but if the wind is blowing really hard then the 3 line pulls the kite further down into the window giving the person flying it quite a workout.

signing up for a dropbox or google docs account is not difficult and seems like a reasonable way to keep a viewable inventory list available.

Re: Des Moines, Saylorville this weekend
I went this last Monday and the wind was coming out of the NNW. The beach at Oak Grove worked great to set up and launch.

Re: question for Tighe
thanks Rob I've sailed Clear Lake 3-4 times in the past few years but haven't been recently so just wanted to check on the current status. I launched from the public beach before without any hassles. I am always respectful of the locals so no fears. Had my first opportunity to sail Storm Lake Ia a ...

Re: Chicken loop for a trainer kite
It worked great. I do have the ready relaunch system on the kite so if I got pulled off of my skateboard, I just pulled the bar back (to get it off of my spreader bar) and let go. I do have to say, I was able to ride longer, but riding with just the bar in your hands is more fun and you get a better...

Chicken loop for a trainer kite
I live down in Iowa and mainly snow kite in the winter. During the fall, I take my trainer out and do some kite skating on rural roads. After a while of cruising, my arms start to get tired. I have had the idea for a while of making a home-made chicken loop to attach to the bar so I can use a harnes...
