Just talked to someone at the house and they said the swap has been moved to May 19th.
Can this be correct? I still hear people talking about going on the 12th.

Re: Door county / Baileys Harbor
Rob, you are correct. When the salmon fishing was hot in the 80's I made the long weekend trips, but its really not a weekend destination from here. I usually go for 2-3 weeks at a time. Door County is a good destination with lots of things to do and maybe get a little kiting in not the other way ar...

Re: Door county / Baileys Harbor
Hi Robb, the drive from my house in West Bloomington to my house in DC takes 6.5 hours. But my house is on the water in Gills Rock, the furthest up the peninsula you can go unless you take the ferry to Washington Island. Baileys is about a 30 minute drive back south from Gills Rock. The roads are gr...

Re: Door county / Baileys Harbor
Adam, I'll be back to my house in Door County tomorrow.
Baileys Harbor is the place to be for any south wind SW included.
This week looks good. Tuesday, Wed, Sat, and Sunday are all forecast to
be great south winds.
Give me a call if you want 952-250-0507

Re: recommendations, midwest family vacation spot with kitin
Check out the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin.
Lots of things to do for everyone in the family and, if you get South winds, Baileys Harbor is one of the best places I know for kiting.

Re: NEED YOUR INPUT
Alec, personally I think there are more than enough places to buy and sell used gear already without paying a middleman. Presumable you are going to buy low and sell high. I also like to buy from the person that used the gear. When selling I like to give my input to the buyer and like to match equip...

Re: Jim N, new board
Jim, thanks for the update on the LF board. I found that review online. Unfortunately I won't be able to make Mille this weekend to give yours a try. I have to be in Door Co, WI. Fall is a the busy time for our storage business. The LF fish certainly gives the most bang for the buck. Otherwise I'm l...

Jim, any more feedback on the LF Fish? Do you need to jibe that thing or can you ride it backward like a mutant?
I'm still looking for a fun light wind board. Already have a skim board. Its Fun in light wind but not so fun in chop.

Re: First day in South Padre Island
Jim, shoulder is holding up well. I've had several sessions this week and no problems. Even bought a new skim board and put some time into learning to ride that. I just have to avoid doing something stupid. Tides are extremely low and the flats are like a big beautiful beach. No puddles. It was warm...

First day in South Padre Island
Got here Monday night. Tuesday morning woke up to 7m winds and cold rain. Since I am just 7 months out of rotator cuff surgery I decided to wait until afternoon. Went to the North flats, which are not flooded, still raining and about 60 degrees. Northwest wind. Not surprisingly there were only 5 kit...

Re: LEK IN SPI
Brenda who owns SPI Kitesurfing on Padre Blvd has been looking to sell her kite shop. Why don't you have Laurel contact Brenda to see what she can work out? I spend a month in both spring and fall in SPI. Quite honestly I don't see the need for yet another kite shop in town.

Re: Jimmy Lewis Flight Deck
Steve, did you get a chance to ride the DeCosse boards when you were in SPI?
Last spring Sheldon was giving demo rides, but I didn't try one.
He must weigh 250# and his light wind board works for him.
Thanks everyone for your board suggestions. Sounds like a lot of good options
out there.

Re: Jimmy Lewis Flight Deck
Scott, I know a lot of people in Minnesota have the Door type boards and love them. I tried the 64 Door but found it turned like an oil tanker. I willl have to try the others. Their are a also couple of clones out there by Crazy Fly and Litewave. The problem as everyone knows is that in MN we get th...

Re: Jimmy Lewis Flight Deck
I have been through a few light wind boards over the years. I started out with the SX151, then sold that and went to a Dimitri Pro 135 x 48. I found that wasn't what I wanted/ A little too short and a little too wide for me. I weigh 185#. I bought a Mako 150 wide thinking that would be a light wind ...

Re: Jimmy Lewis Flight Deck
Thanks for the info on the flight deck. Upwind sounds great, but stiff and slow doesn't sound like what I am looking for.
I would like a board that is a pleasure to ride and turn.
Jim, what model Underground do you have?

Re: Best Bularoo Slow Leak
Jeff, thanks for the info. I will give the teflon a try on the whole nozzle this time. It was a bear putting the bladder back on with the extra thickness caused by the teflon tape though. If it works its worth it. Mike Bob, yes I did run into the Madison crew yesterday. I'm never too good with names...

Re: Best Bularoo Slow Leak
Jeff, I agree that the one pump system Best has put out is pretty bad. They must have thought that system up at a bar some night. Its kind of like putting a condom on. The really bad part is that there is no way to isolate a leak so the whole kite deflates. Makes me appreciate my Slingshot kites all...

Re: Best Bularoo Slow Leak
Jeff, I just bought a nearly perfect used 08 7m Bullaroo. I say almost perfect because it has the same leak at one strut connection that you are talking about in this post. I have tried the teflon tape deal and that didn't work. I called Best and they suggested I buy a new T4 bladder for $13. If I u...
