Would you guys like a shop/website that specialized in buying and selling of used gear, or offered you trade in towards new gear. the shop would sell used and new gear not on consignment.
Meaning you do not have to search for a buyer of your gear, the shop can give you money or trade in instantly.

Re: NEED YOUR INPUT
Alec, personally I think there are more than enough places to buy and sell used gear already without paying a middleman.
Presumable you are going to buy low and sell high.
I also like to buy from the person that used the gear. When selling I like to give my input to the buyer and
like to match equipment with the skill of the buyer. In other words not selling old junk or more advanced kites to beginners.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: NEED YOUR INPUT
I think that having a shop that did that would help curb people buying gear that is inappropriate for their skill level. Also this concept would say people are likely to sell their gear for cheaper because they want cash THEN and the gear would be sold for normal market value. Not HIGH priced. I feel it would give more access to used gear for people rather than having to slooth around forums, potentially buying from a dishonest person, later finding that the previous owner abused the heck out of their kite.
Just my two cents.
Thanks for the response.

I dont think it would improve the system we already have. It iis nice to buy from the previous owner as a quality control.

AJ,
I offer new and used gear both on and not on consignment. I don't advertise in here though. Please give the first post a review to provide help for my perspective. I'm hoping to preserve the forum as a "sell free" environment. If you don't take the time to review the intention of this forum I'll carve out some to help. Hope this helps you out and best wishes:
"No selling of equipment, services or promotions in Chat, go to Classifieds for that.
Anyone registered can post on Lakawa Forums. The only requirement is if you have an association with a business or company, your Signature in your Profile has to reflect it. Only fair to let the community know that your opinion may be biased because of this connection.
If you want to use Lakawa's pages to promote or sell anything, please support what we are doing. Not required, only seems fair though.
Please respect the fact that we run a kiteboarding school and store. If you are a competitor, please choose other methods to promote yourself. "

Re: NEED YOUR INPUT
Don't worry not affiliated with anybody, nor do I want to compete with you guys.
I used to be an avid paintballer and went to TONS of tournaments. At all these events there was a company called trademygun.com that basically bought your old gear, sold used gear, and allowed you to trade in towards different gear. I was just curious if people would be interested in this at all. Possibly going to pkra tournaments, Possibly setting up shop at some coastal area with lots of kiting. I just wasn't sure if this same concept could be applied to the kiteboarding industry. I don't mean to steal business or anything. Just taking a poll.

I actually played at a local course here known as TDR paintball. We made it to psp one year which was a lot of fun. The other course we played at was MetroPaintball Games with DSSP8NTBALL, now pro team vicious.
