Rode Calhoun Sat evening and it was pretty good..
there are patches of ice (especially in the middle)
but also areas with nice soft snow (in particular the west side) which are fun to ride
and to jump on

I got the Ocean Rodeo Soul as a xmas present last year.. so far I like it.. (I have got around 20 sesh with it) pros: -it stays dry (I have had several time in which i did several minutes of body drag to get back to the board and no leaks) -quite easy to put on and take off -easy to move wearing it ...

Yes, it was me :D .. You left at the right time! After you left I ventured in the middlle of the lake attracted by the whitecaps there.. but it was a trap.. at around 4.30 the wind sort of died and getting back to shore was a lot of work.. :D but the colors were absolutely worth it... and it's true ...

if the wind clocks a bit toward south the bike path launch should work ok...

so get to the Wak around 4.. wind is minimal, parking lot is empty, but there is a ray of sunshine filtering through the clouds.. you can smell the spring so I say I'll just sit on the shore 5 min and enjoy the timid sun after all the rain... well as i am sitting there I see patches of wind out ther...

yes, I am also curious about Waconia, as the wind this afternoon look good,
but I do not want to drive all the way just to find ice.. :D

I am also looking at the medicine lake webcam and it looks there still quite a bot of ice there...

whaoo nice catch in gasparilla..yet, despite shark fears yesterday conditions were too good to pass up.. had a very memorable session in the gulf yesterday.. sunset, warm waters, big waves and steady 20+ wind (just-right-powered on my 9).. first time kiting in the gulf and I liked it.. had me thinki...

mmm I am actually in Captiva FL springbreaking with the family.. I've got all my kite equipment but so far the wind has not cooperated so it has been all shelling and sandcastling.. tomorrow though the forecast look promising.. now all this shark business makes me nervous.. will let you know tomorro...

I had a garmin 205 worked well for many years then broke in two pieces, bought the a newer model of garmin (610 or so) and it lasted 6 months.. returned to REI and got the SUUNTO ambit 2s.. like it a lot.. -pros long battery life looks good so I use it as every day watch catches the GPS signal ultra...
