Glad to hear you are OK
Hi John, 10 years ago pretty close to the exact day, I was in the water and a motor boat ran over my rig. Sail and boom were destroyed but my Mistral Screamer survived. In fact, I still use the board today. I was fortunate that the boat did not hit me directly or else I may not be alive. However, th...

Greetings Big Jim
I take it this means that you have gotten over to the dark side. Perhaps I will see you on the Bear when I return from Asia. Regards.

I am wraping up a business trip in Asia and will stop at Maui on Wednesday, June 14 for 5 days before coming back to Minnesota. Any chance I can rent some equipment and a room from you? If not, do you know of any other contacts I could call when I arrive. Thanks. Anyone else have any suggestions on ...

Costa Rica - 1st week in Feb.
Hi all, Thinking about a trip to Lake Arenal to escape the cold. I know some of you have been there before. The destination part of this forum is a bit dated. Where are the better places to stay for equipment rental and after hours entertainment? I know this will not be party town like Cabarete, but...

Fin for Mistral
Tighe,
Are you sure about the Tuttle Fin for the Mistral? My Mistral Edge uses a Powerbox fin. Although I am not familiar with the Explosion and my board is a 1996 model.

I got out for 30 minutes
Big Jim, thanks for the tip. Don't remember the name of the beach but I found a shallow / sandy beach (way too shallow) just past Malmo. The wind was blowing 10 - 20 knots on shore. Everybody chickened out so the wife says I got 30 minutes to play before we head back to the cabin. Sloppyly rigged up...

Hi all, Leaving after work today to Milacs. I am bringing the family / kids and friends up for the weekend. We are staying at Little Whitefish Resort. I havn't sail there since Teran H. won the Crossing (1992?). Some of you old timers will remember that epic day where we crossed on 100 liter short b...

Teaching Kids Windsurfing
Hey Ippo: I agree with Coach. Janine, Pam, my brother and I all started out learning at Lake Phalen before progressing to the Bear. I remembered while learning to uphaul, the wind blew me to the other side. I would leave the rig there. Took a short walk (cussing the whole time) back to the parking l...

Loft O2 6.6
I was the other guy out on the Bear last Sunday Apr. 13 with the 2003 Loft O2 6.6 and my old Mistral 90 liter board. I weigh around 150 lbs. and I love to sail overpowered. I don't work for Randy (The House) but I am sold on this new camless design. I was very impressed with how this sail could be t...
