Re: UofM Kiteboarders
Hey all, Lake Wazee is my old stomping grounds; I got the itch one day and did launch there. Although the best wind direction for the lake, the wind was pretty nasty (gusting from ~10 – 20 mph pretty quickly). I predicted it but the water is ridiculously nice and I couldn't resist. I'd side with Mar...

Re: Waconia, Cinco de Mayo
Hey Chris, How bad is the rip? Through any struts or the leading edge? I haven't used them myself, but I've heard Airtime will repair anything. It's gonna set you back a chunk, but likely not nearly as bad as buying a new kite. http://shop.airtimekite.com/index.php/repair-items/professional-kite-rep...

Re: Kitetrip/camping this weekend ---- at mille lacs!
Hey Aaron,
My folks live near Lacrosse and two of my brothers go to the UW there. I'd be surprised if we don't run into each other on Lake Onalaska at some point. Also, I had a great (low-wind) session in the trempealeau refuge two weeks ago.
See you out there,
Isaac

Hey Lee,
Sorry to hear about the injury.
I play tennis as much as possible, so I'm curious how you did it? Was it just a normal play or did you slip on something?
Good luck with your recovery!

Re: Slingshot RPM sizing and performance...
Hey, I'm 200 lbs and I use a 14m for my light winder and it's a tank. It works just fine for me and, at the moment, I only have a high-wind board. I've had the Fuels (old and new) and Revs (I have a 9m now), and I like the rpm the best. It's flies a bit more like the fuel than the rev. But honestly,...

Repost: PASA insurance question
Can somebody look into the validity of the PASA insurance? For example, what constitutes a denial of claim? Why are you required to sign a waiver releasing everyone (including boaters, spectators, other kiters, etc) from liability? Has anyone actually used it before? Here is a link to the PASA insur...

Lake Wissota
I was scouting Wissota on Sunday and failed to come up with a good launch for the SW. Actually failed to find a decent launch anywhere for any wind. Has anybody else found one that works and for what direction.

Re: Bar setup for a shorter person.
Don't all of the recent slingshot bars have the adjustable stopper ball? Just be sure to teach her how to adjust it out when she pulls the depower in (otherwise she will have too short of a depower throw).

Re: Government subsidized kiteboards for everyone!
This is great if you work for a company with an employment health plan. I think that kites and boards would qualify but something like wetsuits and shirts would not. But it's still a bit contradictory from a business perspective because, as an active participant in active sports like snowboarding or...

Re: Rescued Kiteboarder Saved by Sea Plane
That video is great; they finally used some representative footage (i.e. Lenten).
Also, those tides were crazy quick! I didn't really appreciate the severity of the situation until I saw the plane be manhandled by the currents.

Re: The meaning of expert rider.
I usually think of kiters in terms of four levels: newbie, intermediate, advanced, expert. The intermediate is someone who is generally self-sufficent but may need still need assistance with new scenarios of wind, location, equipment, etc. An advanced rider is someone capable of tuning their equipme...
