Conflcit in the water

I was out there with my son on the dock watching the you guys zip back and forth. On the way back I crossed paths with that "fisherman" as he was prepping to put his boat into the water. The odd part was he made a comment to another fisherman about how great it was that all the sailboats were gone. Maybe a bad omen.

SEAN, I HAVE HAD 2 ENCOUNTERS WITH FISHERMEN: I can't say if it was intentional, but one cast my way as I was reaching past the rockpile off Ramsey on WBL. The treble hook on his lure caught on the leach of my sail. I heard the drag in his reel whining, saw what was up, stopped & removed it, while being glad it caught my sail& not ME!
On another day,off the yacht club, I jibed around a fishing boat and took off towards the beach. I looked back to see the selfsame boat in hot pursuit. He caught up & asked me to stop. His hook had caught my fin. He must have thought he had tied into a lunker, as his ENTIRE ROD & REEL were jerked out of his hands. We pulled in his line, but no gear was attached. In retrospect, I still feel bad that I had not offered to help pay to replace his stuff.
All part of sharing the resource, I guess, but always a great source of recollections. BTW: Glad U R getting some rides on the 8.5. That thing is turbo charged!
