Count me in on the surf side, have only been there once and really want to get some down winders on the surf this trip! We arrive on the 21st and come home on the 30th. Heather is looking good on her Jimmy Lewis Sister, she might give it a go on the surf before we come home

I'm there on the 26th and have nearly a dozen coming down on the weekend after thanksgiving.

I'm always up for downwinders from either end of the island, though prefer the SEers because of my stance.

I'll be there Nov 5 -10. Will anyone else be there then? I know it's not the popular time to go but that's what worked for the schedule for my wife and I.

This is going to be another awesome kite adventure from Minnesota!!! Hopefully I will be able to get Caroline up on a board while I am down there, that's my goal and a little surfside downwinders would be the icing on the cake, can't wait to get down there!!!!!

I am taking a few of Rob's boards with me when I drive down, if I have the room I will email probably like two to three days out to be able to take someone else's baords too, I'll keep everyone posted, it would be easier than trying to fly them down, only deal is I won't get there until Saturday around 2 to 3 in the afternoon.

Definitely not too late to join in. Sounds like Minnesotans will be down from the week before Thanksgiving through the week after Thanksgiving. Hope you can make it down. If you want help with the gas charges, some in our group may want their gear transported back to avoid airline charges. When you thinking of coming back?

Hope you can come down and play

I will make it down there but my skills are still limited over my fear of sharks! Even in freshwater lakes. I will try it again after 2 years, but my imagination will always scare me. That's why I prefer mountains.

Hlanzi...get yourself more time. with those dates you'll spend all your time driving. It's 24 hours of driving one way.

Rob..you're right. Shitty year. With all the wind being Monday thru Friday I've hardly kited. For scumbags like Terry D ,who can get out any time, it's been a wonderful year, no wonder he always looks so happy.

Still I did have one of my best days in years in Duluth, 6 foot waves, sunshine, good company, an awesome day. When those Northerly winds hit that south shore it must be the best terrain we have on any lake around here.Awesome.

Is anyone having problems finding lodging ?

We originally booked a extra room at Laquinta back in July when we thought Heathers lil ones were making the trip out, since they are not traveling to Padre we have a room at Laquinta that we will be cancelling. If anyone is in need of a room 11/21 to 11/29 we locked in the rates early. We are not out any $$$ for cancelling, hoping to save someone else some $$$ if anyone is looking. We are holding the room for another week and then letting it go if no one can use it.

See ya in Padre!

Just a heads up. There is a very large basketball tournament going on around Thanksgiving and the week afterward down there and LaQuinta is where they all are staying. Unfortunately it may be a zoo. We moved to the Travel Lodge because of this.

Rob I hope you don't mind me posting this. Since you can cancel without $$, I just thought I'd add this info to someone else's decision.

can't wait.
