Kite Board Cross Training Class

Post by tumblemonster »

Hey everyone,

I'm teaching a watersports class for kiteboarders. We utilize trampoline, wire and bungee systems to practice air and board skills. This class will help you master on-the-water skills much faster than you could by kiting alone. Why? Because in the time you can attempt 5 back rolls on the water, you can perform 50 back rolls on a trampoline, feeling the exact same forces and training the exact same muscle and motor skills.

Some of you know me already, but for those who don't, a little about me: I've been teaching gymnastics, acrobatics, trampoline, and circus arts for almost 15 years. I've been kiteboarding for 5 years and wakeboarding for a bit more. I've also been working in the stunt industry doing commercial and film work, as well as rigging wire stunts. About 2 years ago I started a stunt school to train stunt performers. I also started teaching board skills to snowboarders and wake and kiteboarders, and utilizing my stunt rigging skills to build and test apparatus for teaching various skills and techniques.

I guess the less professional, but more appropriate way of putting this is I like playing with cool toys and finding ways to use them to make learning easier, I like teaching other people to play with them too, and I'm pretty good at it!

So, that said, I'm teaching a very unique class for kiteboarders to help you improve your skills. It's really fun.

We're starting Thursday. The class runs every Thursday from 8pm-9pm, you can sign up anytime and it's 71$ a month, except for November, when I'll be gone for a week at least. I'm going to Padre :D

You can register at Gleason's Gymnastic School. The class is listed on the Eagan schedule under Xtreme sports and is called "Board Sports: Water"

Hope to see you there!

For those of you who don't know Jason - he is an awesome instructor. He will work with you at whatever level you are at, and it also great at teaching kids. The gym is a really friendly place and the evenings are full of fun active adults which is great for when you are taking a break. I have worked with Jason for many years and loved every minute of it.
If my leg wasn't busted - I would be going too!

Thanks!

for sure! Thanks, Jason!! Gawd, I havent had that much fun in awhile! I'm sold. Initially, i was planning on signing up for 1 month but i'm in long term. The possibilities to improve my kiting skills are endless with Jason's set up plus launching into the foam pit is too much fun. (i'm still giggling) We had a good group; Tighe, Avery, Brian, TJ, Peter N, Kayla and myself. If many more sign up, Jason may have to add another class.

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks. The Thursday class is 1 short of full, and it's entirely because of this forum and it's users.

I'm opening a second class on Tuesday night from 8pm to 9pm, beginning October 14th. I hope that will work for those of you who couldn't make a thursday.

Thanks guys!
