Wind Sunday

Post by Denis »

Looking at the NOAA maps, it seems that there will be some wind in the south-west of the state on Sunday. Does anybody know a good lake around the Mankato region? Otherwise, I might stay local at Waconia or maybe Cannon.

Itching to get on the water, hopefully I won't be itching on my way out.

Mankato Area

Post by Chris »

Denis,

For years, I too, have been looking for lakes around Mankato. According to Mat, a former Mankato resident, the lakes around that area are swampy.

Mat, if you get back from church and see this post, can you verify? (Mat might not check the post unless "Kite" is in the title -- we'll see....)

I'm itching to go too. Although the experimental isn't promising wind today, you might find me standing on my board in the middle of Lake Wacaonia. I'm getting that desperate.

Chris.

that might not be such a bad idea. There seems to be some wind moving this way. Weather is a nutty thing. I'll probably head out there since I'm all packed up and no clinic to hold.

Hey Chris

Thanks for the reply. I was out at Waconia today and my 14m kite didn't go anywhere.

But it didn't really matter. Got to hang out with the guys and enjoy a beautiful day. There was even music in the parking lot, courtesy of a neighbour who has a rock band. Just needed a grill out there. :D
