It's not quite ready. I checked it last eve after work. It froze sometime after Tuesdays storm so there is a small amount of snow on the surface but that's deceptive. The area last to freeze is in the NW corner. The geese kept that area open until January last year. That's the dangerous area it's very deep there. As soon as the ice fishermen appear in the NE corner it should be rideable from the North beach to the Tin Fish with any south componet. The north shore side is much deeper you might want to wait for fishermens footprints. It will be worth the wait!!

Thanks for the report, Dean. I just wrapped up a session at Nokomis. The ice is pretty thick, but there are lots of slushy spots beneath the snow, so it was a bit sticky and messy. Works in a pinch though.

Hey Mike I must have just missed you on Nokomis. I left a 1:45. Yes, those hidden slushy spots were challenging. Thankfully I didn't fall in those areas. Still nice to be out on the board for a couple of hours.

Tom, glad you made it out. Another kiter showed up when I was finishing up too. Kurt, the Speed 17 flies nicely. It is very powerful and floats nice jumps. It goes upwind well. Very stable for a foil. The major plus is no pumping. The major downside is slower turning than a big bow kite. I think I will put a lot of hours on this kite this winter if all this snow stays around.
