Visiting MN

I'm vacationing from Washington, DC and bringing my LF 136 and TD2 11M and was wondering if I can get advice on local sites. I'll be in Eagan this Thursday and Friday and then heading to SW MN til Sunday and then up to Duluth. I windsurf in MN during the 80's and 90's and left when the milfoil was thick enough to walk on at some lakes. I presumed some of the old stomping grounds such as White Bear and Waconia would be good and considering checkout also Spirit Lake, IA. It has been awhile so any advice where to go would be appreciated. Thanks.

FYI, if anyone wander east and looking to hookup with locals or want advice where to kite check out http://www.eastkb.com. We have a active and friendly kiting community that are willing to share the stoke.

Rutherford is a tiny park area on the very north end of White Bear. We've been using it for winds with a South component since this summer, when Ramsey has become quite full of swimmers.

although it does not appear on maps that I am aware of, it is easy to find. Just take 96 East from Hwy 61, and you will look for a small opening between Portland Ave and Park Ave, clearly labeled Rutherford Park.

But it sounds like being in Eagan, you may have better luck at Waconia, and it is a better lake.

Yes check out the forecasts and choose the lake based on the direction. Those are the two spots locally that provide the best riding. Mille lacs is also great.

You'll be in heaven if you get a good Spirit lake day. It is a great lake.

Thanks for the info. Flying in tomorrow and was hoping to hit Waconia in the afternoon, but the forecast doesn't look too good. I think I'll pack the landboard too just in case it doesn't work out on the water.
