Cottage grove

Post by Tighe »

Ok I've heard a lot about this place but have never been there. Where exactly is it? How about a google map? Does it work in a lot of directions? Is the sod pretty soft, ei easy on kites?

thanks

the grove is the best spot that I have been to for landkiting in the twin cities. it will work on I belive any direction. it is huge it has (going from I think north to south) two baseball fields then a football field then another 5 baseball fileds then like 7 0r 8 soccer fields all conected together with as litle fencing as possiable

The best place to park and set up is in back of the Grade School on Indian Blvd. S.

If the wind is just right, you can ride almost a half mile from the far end of the lower soccer fields to the hill in back of the Junior High. There is also some nice hills and a bowl to ride.

Yeah, I got a late night solo session there this past winter. Winds were SSW so you could ride it end to end. With the school lights you can see all the terrain (thus preventing you from boosting into a back stop!).
