The Glide should be ridden without pads, straps, handle, or fins. I’m thinking about putting grip tape or foam on the top. I might try surf wax first…any suggestions.

chris sell that glide and cut a skimboard out of plywood then cover it with foam. you will have much more fun in the light wind

I think Stroh is right. I first had a Glide, and then made a plywood copy of it. Both had about the same performance. You get going very early, but pretty much just good for buzzing around. Jumping is awkward and clumsy. Last week Terry let me try his skimboard-- what a blast. Loose and lively and fun. I think they get going about as early and you only need a small kite. I just finished my plywood skimboard yesterday. 122X55 with rubber grip tape on the deck. I can't wait to get out on it.

We had a light wind day on Monday in Padre and I was too lazy to mount my pads so I used it as is…What a riot! I had so much fun just walking around on the board.

I must say that the Glide is awesome for light winds. The only board that beats it is the flywood. Yeah, it's a plywood board, but its made by Hein.

Here she is. No, I am not a Cabrinha pimp, I just had the stickers lying around. Hmmm... that top sticker looks a bit crooked. Not including stickers, I have about $25 in this one. Two sheets of sanded 1/4 inch ply glued together with some rocker in the nose. All materials acquired at Menards. Hey, maybe Menards wants me as a team rider. If you see a Menards flag flying at the beach or if you hear me recommending their stuff all the time, maybe even bashing Home depot, you will know I sold my soul for gear.

I got to try one of the nobiles, had so much fun I bought a Rush skim board. Great fun for the light days. Laughing at myself trying to gybe the thing.

I was thinking, why wouldn't a knee board work for kiting, I mean you can really edge on a knee board, I might try it this year I still have mine from when I had a boat, might be fun to try?
