[Friday] Epic day on Waconia

Post by Denis »

Perfect powder and good winds made some awesome conditions on the lake. I seriously think that this is the best snow I have ever ridden in my life. Really good edging and no punishment if you mess up. It was like landing in a feather pillow. Thanks to Ben and Buck for documenting all of this.

Looks like it's blowing already. Going for s'more!

It was hella fun yesterday shooting from little foxholes we dug into the snow so you guys could get nice and close. It was the first time shooting in near white-out conditions and proved to be a bit challenging. I wish I could go today as well, but my wife and I have birthing classes both today and tomorrow that last pretty much all day. I will finish up all the photos tonight and then put them in a flash slideshow to some kickin tunes.

I agree, that was the best snow I have ever ridden, and it was on lake Calhoun. It was like mountain powder. The riding was so much like summer in the water. I hope I can get out later today.

Wacky's Winter Wonderland

Post by scottchapman »

:D What a great session out there. Now I know why we have so many fun loving boardheads ;) Have I joined the second darkside???...There is nothing like it in deep snow. So much more fun than skiing in the deep stuff!
It was my first time on a snowboard in about 7 years. I need to adjust the bindings a bit.. It really was like floating across the water again. I took it easy yesterday, but today I need to try a a few jumps and enjoy the sunshine and soft pillows of fluff... Heading out about noon to Wacky's Winter Wonderland! Great fun!
