47 knots...what a ride that must be, and the things reefed down in that breeze.
The class that started this weird technology is the International Moth sailing Dinghy. Go to youtube and search on International moth. You'll see these guys in 11ft versions flying over the water. Their tiller extension have a twist grip which when rotated alters the angle of the hydrofoil, exteme lift to get out of the water and then dial it down once in the air for less drag.
On Chris's video you can see the boat pitching as they alter the angle of the foils for optimum performance...freeky.
I wonder when the performance increases will hit the barrier.Amazing.
