I won a 5.8 LOFT sail at the Worthington Windsurfing Regatta Raffle (thanks guys!) This sail donated to the event by the House, looks like a great sail. What I'd like to do is pass this on to a deserving windsurfer. I know there are a lot of new riders struggling to learn on less than ideal gear or dedicated veterans that just can't swing the $ for one of the newer sails. If you know someone like this, someone stoked on the sport, unable to buy whatever they want, and needing a 5.8m sail, shoot me an email nominating them. Give me your reasons why you think they would be good candidates to recieve this. I'll use my highly scientific completely subjective review of these nominations to decide whom to give it to. send your nominations to tighe at windancing dot com
Anyone have other gear they would like to donate to complete a rig for someone?
ride on.

Tomorrow West winds.
Tomorrow looks like some decent west winds...stronger as you head to the west. Good sideshore lakes for west winds are WBL Bellaire Launch though it the lake may have a fair bit of boat traffic tomorrow. Lake Washington is another great lake for west wind. It is shallow for most of the eastern shore and has a great rigging area. And lastly, Mille Lacs/Reddy Creek should be great. They have a bit higher forecast for up there right now. The shallows extend out a good distance from shore and there is at least 3 miles open downwind.
Waconia is a great spot for windsurfing or experienced only kiters (onshore winds) Byllesby is also another great windsurfing spot on West winds, though keep an eye on it cause it needs to be almost straight west to work.
TIp of the day: The sun does a number on all of our gear. If you have the option to put your gear in the shade, do. You'll get more life out of it. For kiters if you inflate your kite in the early am. and the temp is say 50 degrees, you may want to let some air out as the temps rise else you could risk your bladder(s) blowing as the air expands. Also be aware of hot sand or blacktop. Placing your kite on either of these can increase the bladder temp and inside pressure significantly.
