Still 50/50 as of Saturday night. Ramsey Beach is all open, but there is ice up in the gap and by WBYC. Looks like another day or two.

What happened to WBL? Tonka has been completely open since Friday afternoon. Ice is long gone. Time for the dry suit on Sunday.

That's easy to explain: the weeds on Tonka ate through the ice from the bottom. I'm expecting ice out by March 15 next year. Just don't let them get a grip on your board, or they'll start munching that, too. :-)

WBL is now open for business. It was still iced up this morning but open when I got to Ramsey around 3 p.m. Played "connect-the-dots" windsurfing with Scotty for awhile on 5.8's. Once he left the wind picked up another notch and filled in nicely. Kevin O. showed up as I was leaving. Great to get wind the first day the ice goes off!

Yeh I enjoyed a fun late day session at WB fromalthough I can't remember a solo season opener session. I sailed up to the marina and then over to Mahtomedi beach and back home - planing >90% of the time. It felt so good to dip my head in and cool off toward the end.

Maybe more today. A few days ago I though late Monday and early Tues. looked good on the 10 day MRF. Until this morning no forecasts agreed. Now NOAA says strong winds and exp shows weak winds here and about 20 down at Cannon. We'll see who's right.
