Looks like a bit of wind this morning. The lakes look too icy to grab an edge. Anyone aware of rideable surfaces? How was the surface at WBL?
thanks Kurt
I think it will be ridable out there for the rest of the week-- maybe longer. There is still 18 inches of ice, which will be soft with these temps. Plus, any rain that falls will be quickly absorbed. If there is wind later this week, I am out there.
Lake Minnetonka was great on Sunday, the slushy snow and ice was faster than I expected and made for easy edging and a lot of fun!
Surprised not to see more kites in the air, we were at Wayzata Bay and only saw two other kites, one in the bay and one by the island. Must've been others elsewhere on the lake I guess.
I'm with Mike on this one - we will have a hard granular surface and it should be pretty fast, fun and easy to set an edge - if there's wind this week I will try and get out.
Just had an excellent session at Ramsey beach WBL. Surface was fine-better than it looked. Decent edge on a snowboard. Solid 18m conditions for 3 hours. Wind seemed to be dying off when I left at 1230

I spent yesterday afternoon at Waconia and had a blast. By the end of the day it was a little like waterskiing. Seems like the end is either here, or very near. I'm still holding out hope for Wednesday!
