looks like we may have some breezes on Christmas eve. I can only sneak out in the morning before traveling out of town for the holidays. Anyone up for a morning sess? Looks to be N to NW.

as of 1:00 friday, the reports are rather mixed. My guess is either light, yet ridable wind 10-14mph or no wind. If there is 10 or greater I'm gonna try and sneak one in.

Weather Underground is saying North to Northwest at 9mph, I'll be there in the morning while it's still cool.

I was just at Buckhill. Crystal Lake was looking pretty slushy already. When all the snow is gone the wind will surely return.

Tonka, is starting to get narly looking too, with large patchs of slush showing through. Another day of this will not help. Wind isn't showing up today either. Wow, positve report, Huh? I wish I could report better.

I guess I'll wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and maybe Santa will bring some wind & snow for us!

I passed wayzata bay a little bit ago. Its looking pretty bad right now.

With all the snow on top of the thin ice the ice was pretty sketchy at my lake. The weight of the ice was pushing up a lot of water through all of the cracks, which just made a bunch of slush under the snow. Then it was pretty sketchy all around, I broke through last weekend with my snowmobile but luckily gave it enough gas that I didnt sink through. Theres a pretty nice hole in the lake right now though.

Hopefully with the snow melting it will give the lake a little bit of time to thicken up. More snows gonna come eventually, and without the snow we're gonna be driving on the lake a lot sooner. Just trying to find the positives in it.

Pretty nice wind out here in the green lake area.
Lake wasnt to nice but a few fields around provided enough snow cover for a few fun runs.
10-15+ wind most of the time..
