Kite Island - say NO to north wind

Post by Eric S »

Holy man, I was out there today alone. The north wind comes over the island and spills out. It was ugly today.

I will only go out there again if the wind is comming from:

WNW to SSW.

If you go out there you will find that what I'm saying is true.

Let me know if it's false!!!!!

Thanks for the info on that. I wouldn't have expected that, but experience is worth its weight.

It might just have been the day too. Did anyone else get out and experince radically gusty/shifty winds?

Waconia is good on NW, perhaps I should check there on the next decent breeze from that direction. On the plus side, there was no one on the lake, no houses, no fisherman, nothing. It was perty peaceful when I wasn't cursing up a strorm :)

I kited on Medicine Lake Tues, but the wind was good to me. Medicine is great on a NW or N wind.
