I spent most of the day at Waconia yesterday...and I am so glad. What a beautiful summer day yesterday was. Shimmering waters, lots of color on the water.
Aaron and I did a super powered up body drag together on a 9m. That was a blast.
Had a decent session on the 9m later though it was a bit gusty. Jon Pederson was in the water with a camera taking shots. If there is a camera out Be Careful....it brings out the stupid in people...or at least me.
Some new faces at the lake. Matt from Florida, who's here for the summer, was ripping it up on his 7m. Jason Glebe was all smiles even though his session deterorated quickly.
After leaving the lake, I played in the sprinkler for a few hours with my daughter and her cousin...may have even been more fun than the lake.
life's just keeps coming at cha.
Great day to be at the Lake

WBL was pretty much like what you describe, Tighe: lots of wind, but *very* gusty. My 5.9 is in for repair, so I was riding my 7.4, and was *way* overpowered. Just hanging on for dear life on scary fast downwinders, because I couldn't keep sheeted in enough to go upwind. Around 7:00 the wind died down a bunch and I had some of my best rides ever on my Carve 131 board. Fast and wild, just skittering over the top of the waves. Still, it remained up and down, with blow you over gusts giving way to drop you on your back lulls.
Fun to see everyone, though, and what a great day to spend on the water!
