Female(s) to share a hotel room in Worthington?

Post by snowlover »

I’m looking for a few (maybe one to three) Windsurfing Women who are planning on going to the Worthington Regatta. I am hoping to find someone who would like to share a hotel room. Camping is not my thing, but being part of the windsurfing definitely is. My plan is going down for the weekend, staying both Friday and Saturday night. It would be great to share the cost of a comfortable place to sleep. I don’t snore, share well and get along with others. Please call me on my cell – 612-861-3401 – as time is running out for a place to stay. Thanks!

Carol,
The Travelodge is our sponsor hotel. They've got great rooms and have helped us with the numerous rooms we've supplied the race crew, sound, musicians and other support crew. Consider using them, as they are a major contributor to this event!

Though we have lots of motels, it sounds like they are filling a bit earlier than ususal. If we didn't have 12-14 people at our house you would be welcome! Introduce yourself to me sometime during the weekend.

P.S. the hotels are quite reasonable!

 I would love to be there, I was planning and waiting for the event since last year, but my mother came to visit me and I cannot go, otherwise I would be the other female supporting the female side of our wind sport...

good luck finding a place!!

Hey Carol, I wish I could hit the event and join you, but family duty to DisneyLand calls. I got to go to the Gorge last summer if I promised a family trip this one.... I used to sail Calhoun in the 80's when I lived close by the lake. Most of my hardcore learning was done there. Spent some serious time in coffin corner on some nuking days....I mostly sail White Bear now with some trips to Mille Lacs thrown in the mix. I'd love to hit Calhoun again. Maybe I'll see ya out there. Feel free to post if you are interested in hooking up. I'll be out of town till the end of June. It's always fun to meet other female sailors. I was so surprised last summer at the Gorge because there were so many women. I hadn't sailed the Gorge since '89 and '91 when female sailors were pretty scare. But man, I was so stoked to see the numbers. In fact, last summer there were a couple of ladies in their late sixties who were quite inspirational at the Hatch. Very Cool.

The festival sounds like a real good time. I know you will have a great time because windsurfers/kiters are such a great bunch of people in my humble opinion. May the wind be with you all. ;) Jenny J.
