Awesome presentation!!

Tighe, Nathan, John, you all did a wonderful job presenting the backcountry kiting. Tighe made it sound so sureal and elegant. The photos were also very motivating. Kiting and camping sound so cool it makes me want to go to Canada( since ice is getting dangerous in MN) right now.

Thanks. As you know it is easy to glow about our experiences in the wind. We definitely want to share this kind of expedition with others next year. The full moon was definitely a plus and we should try to schedule a trip around it next year.

thanks for stopping down.

You can always go to "Greenland, Alaska, Antarctica, and Patagonia"

I wish I could have been at the presentation. It sounds like fun.

I also wish I could have made it. This kind of trip sounds very appealing to me. Any way you can post a summary of the expedition; what you learned including the do's and don'ts. It would seem that a summer expedition to a 'wet' destination might also be pretty awesome! Opinions?

We're working on a press release that we want to send out to editors to see if there is any interest in publication. Until then, we wanted to limit the exposure.

We'll post it here after we've sent it out.

Yes definitely a summer safari is a great idea. Voyaguers is a common area for houseboat rentals. We discussed this a bit last night. Getting a group together renting a houseboat and finding some cove out of the wind to camp, then exploring the lakes by day by kite. Most of the house boats come with small zodiac type boats, which would work for drift launches and pick ups if needed. The jetstream is in Canada most of the summer so the winds are most likely much better up there than down here. The water may be chilly though. Fresh fish over a fire at night. Either way, the adventure would be incredible.

Thanks all for the compliments. Glad so many folks made it out for the show - Hopefully we can do another (even better) trip next winter. I'll supply the sticks for 'steak-on-a-stick' over the fire.

Mike - I'm liking the Canada ideas - either Lake Winnipeg or the other lake you mentioned. LOOOOOONG distance kiting.

Thanks again,

John.
