Wind direstion is sw which is nice for Cannon. I think they got a bit more snow than we did last two storms if you want to call then a storm. this is the only link I could find for snow depth.
I think Scott is right. I saw reports of 1-3 inches around Mankato from yesterday. Very little of the new stuff stuck around at WBL. I am venturing to Cannon Thursday.
Here is the WBL webcam, which shows about 60% cover. I bet Cannon is closer to 90-100%.
I kited on Medicine Lake late yesterday. 70-80% snow cover. Some drifting 6-8" deep. The snow was not yet clinging to the ice, so even when on snow exerting much sideways pressure would break away to a downwind slide.
I'm going to head down to Cannon. Warning: the last time we were down there (last friday?) There was what looked like some bare ice that extened from the bridge. Mike and Jim said that it was open water before.
Stay away from the bridge for a few hundered yards out.
Should be good down there before the sleet. Makes sense to stay away from the bridge. Stronger current through there. It is a river remember. I wonder where all those damn snowmobiles go after they pass us? Into the hole??????
