Ice report New Brighton

Post by Portland Pete »

Just checked the ice on a smaller lake here in New Brighton. Pike Lake.

The puddles of water that are trapped between the layers
of ice are not as deep as I expected.

Not near the 1" of water reported by Steveb on Cedar Lake in WI.

I am hoping these 1/4" trapped puddles
of water solidify overnight and I will
give it a shot on hockey skates on Saturday.

There is plenty of solid ice without the trapped puddles, atleast 50% solid.

It is hard to see where the puddles are located, so they are hard to avoid.
