Possible TV Coverage Today at Kite Island

Post by Randy »

Hey Voita and crew,
Stephan, from the Environmental show, ESPN 2 and Channel 45, is doing a segment on winter sailing devices. I told him about this site and the event you've got going today. I'm not sure if they'll make it or not. We had a shooting session on Calhoun yesterday. Unfortunately, the winds had dramatically backed off by the time they got their cameras out, and true to most "camera" events, attention on the ride gives way to ego and all that can go wrong, does. I had an ice boater slice my lines just when I went from the Skimbat to the kite, so they need a lot more footage.
Again, they know about this site, so Stephan, if you're reading this, maybe you can email Tighe about the time you'd be out there and he could post it. Looks like tomorrow should be good, too. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work all day today. Have a great event.

Great. Vojta's event will be mostly windsurf type ice rigs, though there may be some kites. Sounds like the latest generation of these rigs are incredibly fast. Should make for some great footage.

There will be a crew of us down on Calhoun today and probably more tomorrow since the weather will be a lot warmer.

hopefully there will be lots of color out this weekend if he wants to get some good footage.
