Father's Day at Lake Washington?

Post by Mike W »

Anyone else thinking of heading west? The chances of getting on the water are much better than at Mille Lacs.

I don't care where I go. Just give me wind!

I'll check the blubs & wind reports tomorrow and decide. Washington is a great target. Right now Experimental is still favoring Mille Lacs. I haven't check anything else yet.

A Father's Day with wind. :D Life is good.

TJ, check the Lakes section for info. and directions to Lake Washington.

Barry, I agree. I would be up for a trip to Malmo. Let's check the scene in the morning.

We had fun @ Malmo park yesterday. Met some of the Chat crew, twill & flyhi. Steve B, Terry D & Jim N also joined in. Also a windsurfer whom I didn't catch name was cruising all over up wind. Most of us are fairly new with kiting and the stoke of the ride is always present. Big thanks go to Terry to help launch numerous kites.
The Park offers a very large grassy area for rigging, frisbee or just hanging out + large trees for shade. Don't forget to bring inline skates. Porta Potties availible nearby at the public access.
The lake is very shallow & sandy out to 300 m.+. This is the best area I've seen for having a great ride with out the fear of deep water drifting if problems arise.
Exp. showing more wind up there, so I'm heading up with ETA of 11am.
Come join in the fun.

Sweet, the forecast is looking better up there. We should be at Malmo before noon. What a Father's Day!

Hi, Is Malma at Mills lake? Never been there, but want to sail. Also, how is the water level on the lake, is it high. I can't wait for some of the water levels on some lakes and rivers to drop.

Yep - Malmo. It's on.

Went yesterday - it's a GREAT place for us beginners. I would highly recommend it. Great crew there too!
