I was out on Tonka by 10:30 with little sign of melting at that time but by 12:30 it was a pool with standing water everywhere. Needless to say I was soaked too. Hockey skates work more like Tevas in this weather, my feet (being soaking wet) were much more cold than on a 10 degree day.
One positive note. My 9.5 Psycho got pretty wet after a couple of dips in the water. And when the material is wet it really holds in the air, suggesting that it may relaunch/float pretty well on the water. It took a lot of work to get the air out when packing up. The added water weight made it a little heavier but not excessive.
