winds 40 gusting to 65

Post by john mooney »

Wed at he gorge had a front come thru with the biggest winds Ive seen here in 20 years. Went down to the sand bar to kite but saw a friend go out on a naish aero 4.0 and get pummeled so I put my 7.0 gto back in the car and watch ed one brave kiter on 10 meter lines do pretty well.
the wind report later said the winds were 40 gusting to 65!!!!!! This place is amazing with the diverse days ever day, never a dull moment. Water temp is now 53 so Im still in a dry suit for the swim back. Enjoy MN!

Dawg, did you take any pics? I would imagine the water was frothy!

Can't wait to come out this year and windsurf. I might even bring out a kite for low wind days. I'm going to spend no wind days looking for hills carve on my skateboard. There are some really good roads near this restaurant

or if you go out east there's my secret spot...

Skating is a nice way to relax after being pounded by the Gorge wind and swell day after day heheh. I'll look you up when I get out there.

Eric

I found a great road at Roosevelt for ya.
There is a private road that goes
up the hill to the garbage dump.

On a weekend when the red semi trucks
arent using the road it is 2 lanes
wide with absolutely no traffic.

I poached it on a weekend and
rode my bike up and down.

The trip down was the best.
And the wind had started blowing too.
Much nicer black top than the Maryhill
curves, and steeper.

Thanks bra,

I'll now have a place to spend no wind time at Rosy.

One of my best days was out there. Didn't know about some nice rides on the tar.

Let's go RIDE!
