Great afternoon on Calhoun

Post by Jeff A »

I didn't get there until 3:15 but I had a great time on my icesurfer with a 4.2 sail. sPk was out on his freeskate and Dave? was out on a snowfer with a 5.2 ripping it up. Mostly ice with 25% snow patches, more around the edges. There were a few scareeee fast rides. A bit much wind for tricks, but had to do a few 360's, duck jibes, monkey jibes, etc. in the higher wind just to see. Only had to chase it down 50 yrds once.
Did't get off the ice till 5:30.
More tomorrow?

snowfers and ice surfers

Post by Tony »

I'm interested in talking to the owner of the snowfer for info on how well it works on snow covered lakes, how well it turns compared to freeskates on clear ice, and info on differences between the different blade types, etc.
Anyone else who has experience with the different types of sail powered ice toys feel free to chip in.

The guy that was on the Snowfer was going back and forth. It looked like he could steer a little with the sail but he couldn't tack or jibe with it.
I might get out for an hour or two again on Calhoun after 2pm. if you would like to try my icesurfer. Bring a helmet.
