It looks like that long Sub-zero deep freeze in February has put a damper on early openings on Lakes.

Lately it's not so easy to see "free" web cam shots of different lakes. But I do manage to squeak out a live cam shot of

Big Creek Lake, Iowa and it's completely frozen over still. I was planning on sailing Clear Lake, IA tomorrow, Tues, March 9th.

But if Big Creek lake in Polk city, IA (almost as far South as Des Moines) is not open, then I doubt Clear Lake is open. Too bad, because it's going be Windy and warm tomorrow. Well, the wind and warmth may help crack the Lake open.

Guess I'll just go back to making preparations for a windsurf session later in the month.
